The Search is on

I had a lot on my desk and on my official to do list. It was not going to be easy clearing it up but I had to draw up my personal to do list. It was already Friday and I needed to do my shopping the next day. I looked up at my list when I was done. Top on my list was a blender.
My blender, or should I say blenders has been giving me serious issues. Now let me explain. I am one of those people who see blenders as necessities. That is because I can hardly do without one. The blender I used in school, I passed on to my baby sister upon my graduation. The first job I got could barely pay my rents so as soon as I got a better job, I settled down to build my kitchen. Part of building my kitchen included getting a blender.
“A big engine blender works better”, the merchant told me so I picked a big-engine Masterchef blender and was glad.
My joy did not last long. I made a costly mistake barely six weeks after that cost me my big-engined blender did not properly place the top part on the lower (engine) part. This made me loose the knob that connects both parts and left me blenderless. It was not until one month later that I got a repairer to fix it. I paid N1, 000 for the repairs, added to the N4, 000 cost price, I had spent N5, 000 on the blender. That was the reason why I was pissed when the blender refused to work after the repairs. So pissed that as soon as I was able to save some more money, I got another blender for N3, 000. The merchant assured me of the quality of this one - Saisho Magic. I used I for another 3 months when it started smoking. Luckily, or so I thought, a repairer has just moved into my neighbourhood. I spent another N1, 200 naira to get it fixed.
“It is because the engine is china made that is why,” the repairer said,” I will put a new one it will work well. That is why I am charging you this much”.
I made the mistake of believing him. He did his part, fixed it enough to get it working so I could get the appliance out of his shop. I once more began to enjoy my blender. My joy lasted for two more months before the smoking resumed. I was so frustrated that I did nothing except to keep using it until the day the smoke gave way to real flames. That was when I poured water on it to put out the flame and threw out the remains into the trash bin.
I felt grieved. After spending N9, 000 on blenders I still did not have any blender. That is where I am. I need to get a blender. I did not know the product to trust. Something moderate that would serve me well. So I turned to google for help. I got little because all known product kept promising the same thing that the merchants at the open market told me.
So I guess the search still continues.
